Scot JCB Glasgow Donate to Christmas Gift Appeal

The staff at our Glasgow depot have donated generously through Glasgow’s Spirit of Christmas Gift Appeal. This year, we pledged to donate 35 gifts to the PEEK Project based at the Legacy Club in Parkhead!
Glasgow’s Spirit of Christmas
Glasgow's Spirit of Christmas has been running for seven years. The idea behind this gift appeal is to support local children affected by hardship or living in poverty in Glasgow and the surrounding areas. A whole host of charities sign up to participate and those willing to donate pick their chosen charity and select how many gifts and what age range and gender they wish to donate a gift too.
The statistics are saddening, and the reality is that 1 in 5 children in Scotland and 1 in 3 in Glasgow are living in poverty. Many more are affected by difficult and complicated situations even more so in the past 2 years due to the pandemic. Sadly, these figures are predicted to rise over the coming years.
Since it’s launch in 2014 Glasgow’s Spirit of Christmas has made the magic of Christmas a reality for 63,887 children living in poverty with over £2.2 million worth of gifts going to kids in Glasgow and the surrounding areas!
PEEK Project- Possibilities for Each and Every Kid.
The PEEK Project aims to improve social connections, wellbeing and opportunities for children, young people, and families. They meet these aims by offering their services in the community and in schools. They offer programmes for babies/toddlers, school age children and teenagers through three categories: Play, Create and Thrive.
The staff at the PEEK Project were grateful for the generosity shown from the staff at the Glasgow depot. So many thoughtful gifts were donated for the children involved with the PEEK Project ranging from toddlers to teenagers. All gifts were transported to the Legacy Hub on 8th December to be checked over and distributed by the fantastic team at the PEEK Project.
Well done to everyone involved!
