Innovative new JCB models to be showcased at ScotPlant

At ScotPlant 2018, Scot JCB and Stewart Plant Sales will showcase a full range of it plant and equipment including show debuts for some of the new models launched by JCB this month.

Highlights will include JCB’s brand new X Series 20-tonne tracked excavators and next generation mini excavators on the Scot JCB stand with the revolutionary 7T-1 HiViz site dumper and JCB Access electric scissor lifts being shown by Stewart Plant Sales. The pioneering JCB Hydradig 110W will also be shown in action in the demonstration area.

SCOT JCB

Across its stands and demonstration area, Scot JCB will show two of the advanced new 220X crawler excavators - the first models in the next generation of JCB tracked machines for the global construction market. Over a four-year development period, JCB has employed a programme of intensive component and product testing, to achieve increased levels of build quality and reliability for customers.

The new machines feature a 15% larger cab with integral ROPS structure, reduced noise levels, simple user interface and stronger side doors for greater strength and increased protection. They also benefit from a central main boom mounting for increased digging accuracy and durability, and a 200mm wider upper structure which delivers improved packaging.

Also making its ScotPlant debut is the next generation JCB 19C-1 – a 1.8-tonne conventional tailswing mini excavator – designed for contractors looking for the ultimate performance in a sub two tonne compact model. JCB’s new mini excavator range has been designed to deliver lower total cost of ownership through reduced maintenance, maximum uptime, improved serviceability and proven residual values. Each machine is backed with a standard two-year warranty and a range of service and warranty repair packages. Key features of the new range include: 100% steel bodywork, improved protection for all hydraulic rams and hoses, improved access for maintenance and daily checks and 500-hour greasing intervals reduce regular downtime.

These brand new models will join a vast selection of machines from the extensive JCB range which Scot JCB supplies and supports including: the JZ141 rental specification 14-tonne tracked excavator, the revolutionary JCB Hydradig and 3CX and 3CX compact backhoe loader models. These will be shown alongside JCB Loadall telescopic handlers, generators, skid steer loaders and wheeled loading shovels.

Many of the machines displayed have been recently purchased by Scot JCB’s longstanding customers across Scotland and the north of England which include some of the region’s leading plant hire and building contractor firms.

Scot JCB has supplied and serviced JCB machinery for over 50 years, growing into a highly specialised machinery distribution company operating through a network of twelve branches from Muir of Ord north of Inverness, down to Carnforth in Lancashire.

STEWART PLANT SALES

Stewart Plant Sales will showcase the brand new range of JCB Site Dumpers, built at world headquarters in Rocester, with capacities spanning from one to nine tonnes. Leading an industry-wide focus on forward tipping dumpers, JCB’s new line-up takes site dumper safety to previously unachievable levels, meeting the needs of contractors, civil engineers, ground workers, highways and housebuilders.

Features include a manufacturer-backed two-year warranty and all-steel construction, compliance with the latest safety legislation (including ISO 5006:2017) and the availability of the JCB SiTESAFE cab, with reinforced frame and impact protection, on 6-9 tonne models.

In particular, JCB has moved the market forwards with the launch of an innovative high visibility seven-tonne model. The JCB 7T-1 Front Tip Hi-Viz model addresses the key safety concerns experienced on construction sites today – visibility, stability and operator protection. By using a low-slung chassis design and revised skip, the operator benefits from huge improvements in front visibility. Compared to a conventional six-tonne dumper when laden, the 7T-1 Hi-Viz model offers a 77% improvement.

Stewart Plant Sales is also responsible for the sales and service support for the JCB Access range which currently includes nine electric scissor lifts spanning from 15’ (4.6m) to 45’ (13.8m). The scissor lifts have operating weights of between 2,930-7,420lb (1,330kg-3,366kg). The two smallest models (S1530e & S1930e) offer platforms measuring 5’4” (1.64m) long by 2’6” (0.76m) wide, while the majority of larger models use an 8’2” (2.5m) long platform. The largest S4550e model has an 8’ 8” (2.64m) long working area. The machines are rated for basket capacities from 500lb (227kg) to a maximum of 1,212lb (550kg) and the electric scissors are powered by four 6V or 12V batteries, with hydraulic drive. All models are certified by TUV to ensure the highest quality standards and the machines also comply with the latest ANSI and CSA legislation.

Also on the Stewart Plant Sales stand will be Atlas Copco portable air compressors and tools, Norton Clipper concrete and stone-cutting machinery, Western Global fuel, water and oil bowsers and tanks and Obart surface and submersible pumps. Further JCB kit will include JCB Compaction Equipment models such as the JCB VM137 self-propelled soil compactor and the JCB range of tandem vibratory rollers including VMT 160-80 and VMT260-120 models. These will be joined by the HTD5 high tip dumpster and a series of JCB handheld breakers and compaction plates.

Part of the Scot JCB Group, Stewart Plant Sales is Scotland’s leading supplier of construction equipment manufactured by Atlas Copco, JCB, Norton Clipper and Western Environmental.
