Geeky T-shirt Day

Children’s Hospices Across Scotland, or CHAS, offer full family support service for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions through their hospices, homecare services and hospital presence. This amazing charity is very close to our hearts and we commend them for their selfless and amazing work.

As a company, we are supporting two of our staff members from our Dumfries depot – Sam Stitt and Callum Shaw – who are about to take on the mammoth task of the Mongol Rally. You can find out more about their wild adventure in our previous blog post.

On Friday 3rd of May, we held a company-wide Geeky T-shirt Day in support of CHAS, and to help Sam and Callum on their journey. From our geeky t-shirts to our superhero masks, we had a great day in supporting our chosen charity.

Many of our staff brought in their wonderful home-baking which was taste-tested by our Glasgow Warranty Administrator, Peter Reilly and after careful consideration - as well as a sugar rush! - he decided that the winner was our Glasgow-based Service Administrator, Jacqueline Stewart, for her delicious homemade carrot cake. Well done, Jacqueline!

We were overwhelmed by the support and generosity of all staff and depots who participated in this day. Across the Scot JCB Group, we raised a grand total of £600; however the board have kindly rounded this number up to a massive £1000!

If you would like to continue to support CHAS, you can donate through their website.
