Meet Our New Recruits


A massive welcome to all our new recruits who started with us in September. Joanna joined us as our new Accountant in Glasgow, John joined us as our new Blacksmith in Forfar, Mark joined the team at SIA in Aberdeen as an Engineer and Ross became our latest Engineer to join the team in Dundee.

We caught up with them to find out a bit more…

Joanna Anderson

Scot JCB Group

Accountant, Glasgow.

What attracted you to the role?

“The Scot JCB Group is a reputable and growing company and with the implementation of IFS I feel that it’s exciting times ahead. I was also ready for a new challenge!”

What is your previous experience?

“I previously worked for Mercedes Benz of Glasgow for 25 years, initially started doing the Purchase Ledger and ended up as the Dealership Accountant.”

What are you looking forward to about the role?

“I’m really looking forward to learning about the business and I’m excited to start just as the new IFS system is launched.”

What do you like to do in your spare time?

“My spare time is generally spent taking our wee dog Orla on walks, before lockdown I loved musicals so would enjoy going to theatre for these…hoping to get back to that soon.”

What TV Show do you binge watch?

“Just starting to binge Greys Anatomy”

 

John Gibson

Scot Agri

Blacksmith, Forfar

What attracted you to the role?

“I was attracted to the role when a friend sent the job to me and I looked more into the company and the products I could be building and working on.”

What is your previous experience?

“I have been a welder fabricator for the best part of a decade now, served my time working in oil and gas and then moving to the agricultural side of things more recently as I prefer the variety of work. I have vast experience in in all processes of welding from stick, mig, tig, and working automated welding machines too.”

What are you looking forward to about the role?

“I'm looking forward to having the step up of being the only welder here and getting to use my imagination to solve problems on my own and be a key part in the design of parts and jobs I could be making and fixing.”

What do you like to do in your spare time?

“In my spare time I'm usually in my garage doing some sort of welding job, walking the dogs, going to gigs and snowboarding in the winter season.”

What TV Show do you binge watch?

“I'm a bit fussy with TV series if it's not on par with game of thrones, sons of anarchy, or vikings I'm not interested, also have a soft spot for Greys Anatomy”

Mark Scott

SIA

Engineer, Aberdeen

What attracted you to the role?

“The company’s reputation, quality products and the high level of experienced professionals already working within the company”.

What is your previous experience?

“I have over 23 years’ experience of working within the Compressed Air Industry as a Service Engineer, providing both Service and Sales assistance”.

What are you looking forward to about the role?

“The challenge of supporting the team to continually improve the service we offer to our customers”.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

“I enjoy spending quality time with the family, playing golf, coaching and following football”.

What TV show do you binge watch?

 

“Line of duty, Peaky blinders, Gangs of London”.

Ross Miller

Scot JCB

Engineer, Dundee

What attracted you to the role?

“What attracted me the most was the variety of machines that I can work on and getting the chance to work for an OEM company.”

What is your previous experience?

“My previous experience was working with forestry machinery and carrying out duties as a rail plant fitter.”

What are you looking forward to about the role?

“I am looking very forward to working on the various machinery and learning a lot more about JCB machinery from the current engineers and hopefully get more knowledge on the machines”.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

“Spending time with my family”.

What TV show do you binge watch?

“Currently binge watching peppa pig but not by choice!”
