Meet the newest members to our family

Every month we like to introduce the new members to our family by finding out a bit more about them. Last month, we had 6 new members join the Scot jCB group across all parts of the business. Some new faces, and some you may recognise! Here's what they all had to say:

 

Cameron Korad - Service Supervisor - Muir Of Ord

 

What attracted you to come and work in your role?

The role was a natural progression in my career however my previous employer couldn't offer me an opportunity due to no roles being available in my location anytime soon. 

What did you do before joining Scot JCB?

I worked a hybrid role at Finning UK ltd as inside sales - part sales - assistant depot supervisor for the highland region

What are you looking forward to the most in your role? 

I am looking forward to the challenges of a bigger team and learning and developing in my new role. Growing customer relations and building a strong team around us to serve our customers and provide our region with excellent service.

When you’re not at work, what do you like to do? 

Racing is a massive part of my life and on my free weekends, I am a mechanic on the number 6 Toyota GB British touring car. I am also a keen scuba diver and enjoy going out in the evenings.

What 3 words your friends and family would use to describe you? 

Happy outgoing adventurist 

Who would be your 3 ideal dinner guests, past or present?

Idris Elba - Ewan McGregor - mickey Flanagan 

 

Jamie Sinclair - Service Engineer - Muir of Ord

What attracted you to come and work in your role?

Found the role very appealing, as it's very similar to what I've done before and I enjoyed that type of work. Being out on the road and meeting different customers and places each day. Plus, I enjoy the challenge of troubleshooting and having to think on my feet to get the customer going - good job satisfaction in that.

What did you do before joining Scot JCB?

I worked for a CAT dealer in Saskatchewan, Canada. I was in field service and drove an F550 ford service truck with a 3000lbs crane, also had a screw-type air compressor very handy. I was the best part of 10 years with Kramer ltd, worked on heavy construction, AG - CAT was involved with Lexion combines over there and track type challenger tractors all fitted with CAT Acert engines.

What are you looking forward to the most in your role?

I'm looking forward to understanding what all the JCB model numbers mean, there are so many models! Looking forward to getting to know the product, lots to learn.

When you’re not at work, what do you like to do?

My wife and I are both from farming families, so we are busy helping on the farm. My wife is a sheep shearer so I help with that most weekends in the summer. We have a 5-month-old boy our first, trying to spend as much time as I can with them.

What 3 words your friends and family would use to describe you?

Best ask my wife - Helpful, busy and happy, that's what I think she would say!

Who would be your 3 ideal dinner guests, past or present?

I think it's best not to find out, what if the three people you admired for so long turn out to be not who you thought!

I'm happy eating dinner with family and friends  

 

Michael Mason - Parts Sales Advisor - Edinburgh

 

What attracted you to come and work in your role?

To work for a professional, well-known company, and recommendation. 

What did you do before joining Scot JCB?

I worked for Indespension (same as Brian) and Fleet Factors (Heavy Truck and Trailer Parts), before that was with HSS Hire (Tool Hire / Small Plant Hire), spent approx. 17 years with Northgate commercial vehicle rental company.

What are you looking forward to the most in your role?

I'm most looking forward to working for a world-recognised brand.

When you’re not at work, what do you like to do?

Enjoy socialising, (I call Bingo at the local club on a Thursday for the older ones), I enjoy reading, playing golf (when I can get the time) and enjoy DIY, Motorsport.

What 3 words your friends and family would use to describe you?

Humorous, Thoughtful, stubborn.

Who would be your 3 ideal dinner guests, past or present?

Nelson Mandela, Morgan Freeman, James Stewart.

 

Matthew Crawford - Sales Representative - Huntly

 

What attracted you to come and work in your role?

I had previously worked with Scot JCB in the service department as the service supervisor, I left the company in March but decided the new job was not for me.

What did you do before joining Scot JCB?

Having previously worked with the company for 7 years I was attracted back as I know how things operate within the business and that it is a rewarding company to work for.

What are you looking forward to the most in your role?

In my new role as a sales engineer I am looking forward to getting out in the field and operating the machines I used to service and repair daily, also getting to meet customers face to face and build relationships with them.

When you’re not at work, what do you like to do?

When not at work I enjoy spending time with my family and keeping fit, I am a keen runner and have competed in a few races over the last few years since taking up running, I have also recently started to swim and cycle so hoping to compete in a triathlon shortly.

What 3 words your friends and family would use to describe you?

Three words my family would use to describe me would be, particular, determined and hardworking.

Who would be your 3 ideal dinner guests, past or present?

Not sure who I would want as 3 dinner guests!

 

Callum Lammie - Service Engineer - Haddington

 

What attracted you to come and work in your role?

Previously driving and maintaining agricultural JCB products gave me an insight into the company and product have to offer.  

What did you do before joining Scot JCB?

Completed my apprenticeship and continued as an engineer at a New Holland dealership for 11 years

What are you looking forward to the most in your role?

Providing a good service and continuing to expand my knowledge on our range of products

When you’re not at work, what do you like to do?

Ride mountain bikes and enjoy a Guinness

What 3 words your friends and family would use to describe you?

Funny handsome charismatic

Who would be your 3 ideal dinner guests, past or present?

Ozzy Osbourne, Michael Jackson, Obama

 

We are also delighted to welcome Conor Donohoe, Service Engineer from Newcastle to the business who was unfortunately unavailable at the time to feature in this month's new start blog.
