Welcoming Our Newest Recruits


In February we welcomed three new members of staff into the Scot JCB Group family. Harry Dickson is one of the first apprentices to kick start his apprenticeship scheme with Scot JCB based in Carlisle. We look forward to welcoming 16 more apprentices across the group in the coming months. Mark Cumming joined the team in Dundee as a service engineer and Clinton Stephenson is the newest service engineer for SIA Aberdeen.

Mark Cumming- Service Engineer, Dundee. 

What attracted you to the role? 

I had been looking for a new challenge for a while and had heard a lot of good things about Scot JCB. This sounded like the sort of place that I could thrive and develop in. 

What is your previous experience? 

I served as an apprentice at a local Massey Ferguson dealership, and I worked on lots of different agricultural machinery. I then moved on to some forestry machines for a few years but returned to the agri machines for the last 6 years. 

What are you looking forward to about the role? 

I am mostly looking forward to working in the construction industry which is new to me and learning about new products. 

What do you like to do in your spare time? 

I have a collection of stationary engines that I like to restore and show at vintage rallies. 

What three words would your friends use to describe you? 

Ambitious, hard-worker and a laugh. 

What TV show do you binge watch? 

I mostly watch football on tv but would say Still Game. 

 

Clinton Stephenson- Service Engineer SIA, Aberdeen 

What attracted you to the role? 

The variety of compressors and scope of work. I have worked with various compressors my whole life, so I am excited to be involved in this industry again. 

What is your previous experience? 

I have over 30 years of experience in the compressor industry. I have worked with CompAir, Kaeser and IR to mention a few. 

What are you looking forward to about this role? 

Meeting new people, visiting new sites and sorting any problem out. Customer service is the key to a successful service department. 

What do you like to do in your spare time? 

I am very passionate about motorbikes. I have done Enduro and adventure rides plus vintage motorbikes. I also love to spend time with my family. 

What 3 words would your friends use to describe you? 

Loyal, dependable and crazy. 

What TV shows to you binge watch? 

MotoGP, Enduro international (anything motorbike related!) and Sons of Anarchy. 

 

Harry Dickson- Apprentice Engineer, Carlisle 

What attracted you to the role? 

I enjoy working on machines and the JCB brand is very well known so I was interested in working with these machines.  

What is your previous experience? 

This seemed like the right fit and natural progression after leaving school. 

What are you looking forward to about this role? 

I am looking forward to working on different types of machines. The JCB range of machines will make for an interesting and varied job. 

What do you like to do in your spare time?  

My main interests are football and cars so this how I like to spend most of my spare time. 

What 3 words would your friends use to describe you? 

Smart, outgoing and dependable 

What TV shows to you binge watch?  

F1 or football
