New year, new team members!


Every month, we like to catch up with our newest team members and learn some more about them. To start the new year, we welcomed two new team members to Scot JCB Group. David Burnett, joins our IT team in our Glasgow head office, and Zunaira Ali, who joins us on a fixed-term contract to assist within within the accounts department.

 

 

David Burnett - Systems Analyst - Glasgow Head Office

What did you do before joining Scot JCB?

I have worked in lots of organisations including banks, insurance & oil companies and universities in IT; mostly in Systems, data and business processes.

What attracted you to come and work in your role?

The company values appealed to me, in particular the family-oriented environment. Also, the opportunity to improve the systems, data and reporting.

What are you looking forward to the most in your role?

Meeting people to understand what they need. Making a difference by creating useful reports that drive business improvements.

When you’re not at work, what do you like to do?

A lot of my time is spent taking my little Jack Russell dog – Molly out for walkies!

When you were younger, what was your dream job?

I wanted to be a Zookeeper.

Who would be your 3 ideal dinner guests, past or present?

Stephen Fry, Joanna Lumley and Peter Ustinov

What's an interesting fact about you that people might not know when they first meet you?

I once lived in a haunted house. I didn’t really believe in the supernatural, but strange things would happen e.g. coming back into the kitchen to find all the drawers/ cupboard doors would be open!

 

Zunaira Ali - Project Accountant - Glasgow Head Office

What did you do before joining Scot JCB?

Working in another Finance role relating to Accounts.

What attracted you to come and work in your role?

I like the construction/manufacturing industry therefore it is good experience. As we are currently migrating onto a new system, my experience of helping migrate onto a new system from previous roles will be useful as I can easily adapt to change.

What are you looking forward to the most in your role?

Working closely with my colleagues and assist them with whatever help I can.

When you’re not at work, what do you like to do?

I like to meet friends for coffee, go on drives, shopping, hang out with my cat Valentino, read books and gym.

When you were younger, what was your dream job?

Neurosurgeon

Who would be your 3 ideal dinner guests, past or present?

Dua Lipa (British Singer) , Stromae (Belgian singer) and Jenna Ortega (The girl who plays Wednesday on Netflix)

What's an interesting fact about you that people might not know when they first meet you?

I can understand 7 languages. Some of them I can speak, read, and write them. Others I can only speak, and I also enjoy kick boxing.
