Every month, we like to welcome our new starts to the business and find out some more about them. This month, we had an amazing 8 new members join us across the group. Read more about each of them below:

Stephen McGuffie - Parts Sales Advisor - Newcastle

What did you do before joining Scot JCB?

I was a parts advisor for an HGV and van company here in the northeast.

What attracted you to come and work in your role?

Its different from my normal role as I normally work with cars, trucks, and vans so I wanted to challenge myself and learn a new trade.

What are you looking forward to the most in your role?

Learning about the various products and building a rapport with customers

When you’re not at work, what do you like to do?

I spend a lot of time walking the dog, and working on cars, going to the races at croft circuit near me and also going on road trips with friends

When you were younger, what was your dream job?

I wanted to be in the army.

Who would be your 3 ideal dinner guests, past or present? Michael Schumacher, Ken Block, Ayrton Senna

What's an interesting fact about you that people might not know when they first meet you? I had an operation when I was 5 so I can no longer be sick

James Martin - Parts Sales Advisor - Carlisle

 

What did you do before joining Scot JCB?

I worked at NPA motor factors and worked on the phones and front counter selling car parts. I had been in the aftermarket car parts industry for the past 20 years.

What attracted you to come and work in your role?

Was looking for a new challenge and wanted to try a different industry for the next 20 years.

What are you looking forward to the most in your role?

Getting to grips with the IFS computer system, hopefully the job will become easier once I can use it.

When you’re not at work, what do you like to do?

Away from work I enjoy spending time with the kids and my hobbies are playing football and very occasionally playing golf when I'm not being Dad taxi.

When you were younger, what was your dream job?

Fireman

Who would be your 3 ideal dinner guests, past or present?

Paul Gascoigne, Dynamo (Steven Freyne) and Sean lock.

What's an interesting fact about you that people might not know when they first meet you?

Olympian and ex gladiator Sharron Davis taught me how to swim when I was about 5 at Butlins. 

 

David Steel - Parts Sales Advisor - Glasgow

What did you do before joining Scot JCB?

Before joining Scot JCB, I worked in garden machinery sales

What attracted you to come and work in your role?

The size of the company & the training provided by Scot JCB

What are you looking forward to the most in your role?

I'm most looking forward to learning new things & working in a fast-paced environment

When you’re not at work, what do you like to do?

When I'm not at work, I enjoy playing & watching football. Also spending time with my wife.

When you were younger, what was your dream job?

When I was younger, I wanted to be either a farmer or a footballer

Who would be your 3 ideal dinner guests, past or present?

For me, it would be Chris Sutton, The Rock & Kevin Bridges

What's an interesting fact about you that people might not know when they first meet you?

It took me 28 years to discover my love for Coffee!!

Blair Nicol - Parts Sales Advisor - Muir of Ord

What did you do before joining Scot JCB?

Worked at a construction company. Previously a parts person, panel beater,  car sprayer and mechanic.

What attracted you to come and work in your role?

I heard that Scot JCB was a prestigious company to work for.

What are you looking forward to the most in your role?

Im most looking forward to interacting with customers and developing a relationship with customers and my work colleagues.

When you’re not at work, what do you like to do?

Football or Restoring old vehicles to their former glory

When you were younger, what was your dream job?

My dream job would’ve been a deep sea welder

Who would be your 3 ideal dinner guests, past or present?

I’d say Kevin Bridges, Sean Connery, Billy Connelly

What's an interesting fact about you that people might not know when they first meet you?

Not sure. I once spent 3 weeks in The Gambia which is a bit of a random holiday destination.
