Meet our newest recruits!


In September, we welcomed new team members to Scot JCB, and caught up with some of them to find out a bit more about them.

 

Brandon Taylor - Marketing Executive - Glasgow

What did you do before joining your new role?

I worked for Three for the last 5 ½ years working within both the retail and head office within the credit risk team. I also graduated in July 2023 with a degree in International Marketing from GCU.

 

What attracted you to come and work in your role?

After graduating from university, I was eager to enter the industry immediately. Being good friends with the previous marketing executive who shared insights about the role at Scot JCB, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to kickstart my marketing career.

 

What are you looking forward to most in your role?

I am looking forward to getting to know the JCB brand and learn about all the different types of JCB machines. I am also looking forward to putting forward new ideas with the aim of involving other departments in future social media campaigns.  

 

When you're away from work, what do you like to do?

Away from work I enjoy playing golf, following the F1 season and going out for food and drinks with friends at the weekend.

 

What's a TV show, Movie, or Music artist you think everyone should watch/listen too?

Ted Lasso on Apple TV+ - An Unreal show with a storyline to match. A must watch!

 

What an interesting fact about you that people might not know about you when they first meet you?

I am likely going to be the clumsiest person in the Glasgow office!

 

Kristie Baxter - Director's PA

What did you do before joining your new role?

My last job, I was Front of House for a hair salon.

 

What attracted you to come and work in your role?

I was attracted to this role as I thought I had the qualities to be a good Personal Assistant, it’s something I’ve always seen myself doing but roles like this are quite uncommon, when I saw the opportunity I knew I had to give it a go.

 

What are you looking forward to most in your role?

I am looking forward to learning something completely new. I’m looking forward to applying myself slightly outside my comfort zone and hopefully achieving!

 

When you're away from work, what do you like to do?

Outside of work I spent a lot of time with my family, dogs and I try to stay as active as possible!

 

What's a TV show, movie, or music artist you think everyone should watch/listen to?

Everyone should listen to Queen and watch the movie Bohemian, the most incredible talent and story.

 

What's an interesting fact about you that people may not know about you when they first meet you?

An interesting fact about me is that I trained and competed in Gymnastics from a young age!

 

Charlie Draper - Apprentice Engineer - Carnforth 

What did you do before joining your new role?

I completed year one of a level 3 mechanical engineering course at college before joining.

 

What attracted you to come and work in your role?

I have always had an interest in a career in engineering and when I saw the position available I applied straight away.

 

What are you looking forward to most in your role?

Meeting new people and most importantly learning new skills and further developing skills I already have.

 

When you're away from work, what do you like to do?

I spend a lot of my time with family and friends, I also enjoy travelling in my Dads campervan as well as watching the formula 1.

 

What's a TV show, movie, or music artist you think everyone should watch/listen to?

A TV show I think people should watch is The Grand Tour.

 

What's an interesting fact about you that people may not know about you when they first meet you?

I'm quite good at cooking.
