JCB Updates LiveLink: What's New for Fleet Managers
JCB has updated its LiveLink telematics platform with a series of changes designed to give fleet managers more control, stronger safety and security tools, and smarter reporting to help cut costs and downtime.
LiveLink already connects more than 580,000 machines worldwide and supports over 40,000 customers, covering JCB and mixed fleets alike. It's accessible through a web browser and mobile app, giving fleet managers, site teams and operators a live view of machine location, utilisation, fuel consumption, maintenance needs and security, wherever they are.
What Is JCB LiveLink?
JCB LiveLink is JCB's telematics platform, fitted as standard across most of the current range. It tracks a machine's location, running hours, idle time, fuel use, fault codes and service intervals, and reports it all back through a web dashboard or mobile app. For a fleet manager running multiple machines across several sites, that means less time chasing down information and more time acting on it.
Greater Control: Remote Fleet Management for Hi-Viz Loadalls
The biggest change in this update is new remote management functionality for JCB's Hi-Viz Loadall telescopic handlers, the 535-125, 540-140 and 540-180 models. Fleet managers can now adjust a range of machine settings remotely, without visiting the machine in person:
Auto Stop parameters: set how and when the machine's Auto Stop function activates
Speed limit controls: cap travel speed to suit a site or operator
IntelliSense activation: switch JCB's pedestrian-detection system on remotely
Tyre pressure monitoring: view live tyre pressure data, helping flag issues that affect fuel consumption, mobility and tyre life before they become a breakdown
Remote PIN management: update operator access without a site visit
For fleet managers covering multiple sites, that's fewer call-outs just to change a setting, and a faster way to support site compliance and machine security.
Stronger Safety and Security
LiveLink's safety and security tools have also been expanded. Customers can now configure:
Health alerts: early warning of developing machine issues
Maintenance notifications: scheduled service reminders sent automatically
Geofencing: alerts if a machine moves outside an agreed site boundary
Out-of-hours alerts: flag unauthorised use outside working hours
LiveLink also integrates more closely with JCB IntelliSense, the AI-based system that alerts operators to pedestrians in areas of risk. Near-miss events and the video footage behind them can now be reviewed through LiveLink, so site managers can look into an incident without needing to be on site.
Smarter Decisions: Reporting and Sustainability
LiveLink already tracks working time, idle time, fuel consumption and CO2 output for every connected machine. The update strengthens the reporting built around that data, with automated reports that help identify underused equipment, excessive idling and inefficient operating patterns across a fleet.
That data also feeds into fuel consumption and CO2 reporting, useful for measuring efficiency improvements and supporting sustainability targets or contractual compliance. LiveLink is backed by the JCB Operator App, which lets operators complete machine checks and keeps equipment on record as safe, compliant and ready for work.
Who Provides JCB LiveLink?
JCB LiveLink has been developed by JCB at a manufacturer level, but implementation, setup, and ongoing management are delivered locally by Scot JCB.
The Scot JCB team is on hand to help fleet managers get the most out of the platform. From creating user accounts and configuring geofencing alerts to retrofitting LiveLink Lite or Asset Tags across mixed fleets, Scot JCB are here to guide you through initial onboarding and ongoing management. Any critical health or fault alerts can route directly to the Scot JCB service department, enabling our local engineers to schedule preventative maintenance, supply parts, and resolve issues before they cause costly downtime.
Why JCB Is Making the Change to LiveLink
“Customers are increasingly looking for ways to reduce operating costs, improve machine utilisation and maintain safe, efficient worksites. Whether someone is managing a whole fleet, overseeing a project or operating a machine themselves, customers need access to information that is relevant to their role and helps them make informed decisions. By helping customers make better-informed decisions, LiveLink can bring increased profitability, safer working environments and more sustainable machine operation.”
