HIRER INVESTS IN MASSIVE FLEET OF JCB LOADALLS

One of the UK’s leading plant and equipment hire firms has invested in a fleet of JCB Loadall telescopic handlers in a deal worth almost £9 million.

Nixon Hire will take delivery of more than 150 machines throughout 2015. They have lift heights ranging from seven to 17 metres and are powered by the fuel-saving JCB Ecomax Tier 4i engine, which has no requirement for costly diesel particulate filters (DPFs) or for exhaust after treatment fluids, resulting in low cost, efficient operation for customers.

The new fleet will go out on hire in construction and materials handling projects including civil engineering works, major house building and warehousing schemes across the UK. Several will stock Nixon Hire’s new, expanded depot in Glasgow which opened at the start of the year. This is the first time the company has based plant and equipment for hire in the city with customers previously serviced from nearby depots in Edinburgh and Dundee.

JCB has been manufacturing Loadalls for almost 40 years and is the world's biggest producer of telescopic handlers.

Nixon Hire Managing Director, Graham Nixon said: “JCB is one of the industry’s leading brands and one that is in high demand from our customers. It is important for us to supply equipment that end users know and trust. JCB Loadall telescopic handlers particularly appeal for their high level of safety features, familiarity for end users and strong resale value. JCB has been the preferred supplier for Nixon Hire telehandlers since 2006. We have a strong relationship with our local dealer, Scot JCB, which has an extensive network which mirrors and supports ours effectively.”

Nixon Hire is a leading provider of site equipment with core hire products including plant & tools, site accommodation and toilets. Established in 1967, it is a family run business which boasts 14 depots across the UK and one in Doha, Qatar. Its product range includes over 15,000 items from leading brands - all complying with the latest health and safety regulations. For items outside of the core fleet, Nixon Hire can source any additional equipment for customer’s site requirements via its specialist team Nixon eXtra and its chain of pre-approved suppliers.
