Meet our new recruits


 In March we welcomed five new recruits to the Scot JCB Group family, we caught up with four of them below to find out a bit more about them.

 

Charlie Potts – Service Engineer – Newcastle

What attracted you to the role?

I was attracted to this role as I have a passion for fixing things and seeing them working again.

What is your previous experience?

I have previous experience on a level 2 motor vehicles course and a level 2 engineering course at school, in these hands on courses I learnt how to check a vehicle for basic faults, how to safely use tools and much more .

What are you looking forward to about the role?

In this role I am looking forward to the hands-on aspect and seeing machines up and running again whilst providing a good customer service by meeting deadlines and ensuring the issues fully resolved.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time I enjoy playing football and going out with my friends socialising.

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

My friends would describe me as funny, friendly, and trustworthy.

What TV show do you binge watch?

In my spare time I also binge watch Netflix, YouTube, and football especially Newcastle United. 

 

Gerry Loughran – Parts Sales Advisor– Carlisle

What attracted you to the role?               

The brand name

What is your previous experience?         

Field Service Controller with UK Forks

What are you looking forward to about the role?           

Learning more about different machines

What do you like to do in your spare time?                         

Cook, read, watch football.

What three words would your friends use to describe you?    

Likes a laugh

What TV show do you binge watch?                   

Game Of Thrones

 

Joseph MacDonald – Apprentice Engineer – Edinburgh

What attracted you to the role?

I have always had a keen interest in mechanics, I attended college to do car mechanics and was really enjoying the course. I always had my heart set on mechanics so I sent my application for, for Scot JCB and was successful.

What is your previous experience?

My previous experience was attending west Lothian college to do a mechanics course, then went to Mcconechys In broxburn as a trainee tyre fitter.

What are you looking forward to about the role?

I am looking forward to progress within  the Scot JCB  company and working towards getting a van. I am also looking forward to college as I will learn and make new friends within the Scot JCB group.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time I like to play my drums and also my guitar, I am in a 4 piece band and we play gigs often. I also like to go out with my pals to play football and go cycling.

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Funny, kind, sensible 

What tv show do you binge watch?

Peaky blinders 

 

Samuel Willison – Apprentice Engineer – Dundee

 

What attracted you to the role?

I am interested in fixing plant and agricultural machinery and enjoy doing it.

What is your previous experience?

Fixing my motorbike and tractor.

What are you looking forward to about the role?

Going out to remote places and fixing machines.

What do you like to do in your spare time

In my spare time I enjoy going to the motocross track on my motorbike.

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Active-funny-kind

What TV show do you binge watch?

Clarksons farm
