Welcome to our new recruits - May 2023

Every month we like to welcome our newest members to Scot JCB, by introducing them through a short blog where we find out a bit more about them. In April, we had 5 new members join the Scot JCB Group, read more about them below:

Connor Middleton - Trainee Parts Advisor - Aberdeen

What did you do before joining Scot JCB?

Before joining Scot JCB, I worked in a fish factory for several months.

What attracted you to come and work in your role?

What attracted me to the role was how much of a great career opportunity it was for me.

what are you looking forward to most in your role?

I'm really looking forward to working on the skills I already have and learning new ones while working in parts.

When you're not at work, what do you like to do?

When I'm not at work, I enjoy boxing.

Who would your three ideal dinner guests be, past or present?

I would say Muhammad Ali, Mo Salah, and Mike Tyson.

What’s an interesting fact about you that people might not know about you when they first meet you

I would probably say that I box.

Danny Craig - Service Engineer - Glasgow

What did you do before joining Scot JCB?

Before working at Scot JCB, I worked as a field service engineer at Douglas Gillespie plant.

What attracted you to come and work in your role?

What attracted me to my role at Scot JCB was that JCB is a brand known worldwide and had only heard good things about the Scot JCB workplace through word of mouth.

What are you looking forward to most in your role?

I'm looking forward to working within the construction plant industry as well as working in remote areas when required and to opportunities for learning and developing my skills through the training centre.

When you're not at work, what do you like to do?

When I'm not at work I enjoy going to the football, playing golf and going out for dinner.

Who would your three ideal dinner guests be, past or present?

3 dinner guests would be Walter Smith, Ally McCoist and Elon Musk.

What’s an interesting fact about you that people might not know about you when they first meet you

An interesting fact about me I can juggle.

Andy Findlay - Credit Controller - Glasgow

What did you do before joining Scot JCB?

I worked for two years with Facebook Gaming, basically, Facebook paid me to sit and play games all day.

What attracted you to come and work in your role?

I have worked in a few companies doing credit control, when I saw the job vacancy, my sister works here and spoke highly of the company, so it made sense to apply.

What are you looking forward to most in your role?

It might sound odd but just being back into a normal working routine, and being in charge of your own schedule can be dangerous especially as gamers tend to turn night into day, just having a regular Mon-Fri role was exactly what I wanted.

When you're not at work, what do you like to do?

Going back to playing games, I play competitively for money in various leagues and tournaments, which I’ll usually do on weeknights, at the weekends I’m usually doing something around football, watching, attending etc.

Who would your three ideal dinner guests be, past or present?

My Family

What’s an interesting fact about you that people might not know about you when they first meet you

I’ve run and build & maintained various websites over the years.

We were also delighted to welcome:

Brandon Gray - Service Engineer - Remote

David Forsyth - Parts Sales Advisor - Huntly
