Jarvie Plant Ltd. invests in 168 new JCB machines with Scot JCB

For more than 65 years, Jarvie Plant Ltd. has been a trusted name in plant hire across Scotland, known for its steady growth, reliable service, and commitment to safety. This year, the Grangemouth-founded family business has made a significant investment in 168 brand-new JCB machines supplied by its long-term partner, Scot JCB.
The order spans tracked excavators, backhoe loaders, telehandlers, site dumpers, compaction rollers, a wheeled excavator, and 73 JCB generators. It reflects both growth and diversification, with Jarvie adding more heavy excavators and strengthening its power solutions offering to meet the changing needs of customers.
Partnership Built on Trust
For Managing Director David Jarvie, the decision to work with Scot JCB once again was straightforward:
“Scot JCB isn’t just a supplier - it’s a partner. We know we’ll get straight answers, reliable service and the right support whenever we need it. That trust is invaluable. With Scot JCB’s depot network mirroring our own and the ability to source machines, finance, parts, and service, this partnership is incredibly important to us.”
At the Forefront of Technology
Jarvie Plant Ltd. prides itself on being at the forefront of technological and safety advances within the construction industry. Its fleet now includes Safety Shield, the most advanced AI human-form recognition safety system on the market.
The company has also rolled out JCB’s LiveLink system across its entire JCB fleet, providing real-time data to support preventative maintenance and environmental reporting. Drew Grant, Plant and Service Director, explained how this benefits customers:
“Our clients increasingly need to report on CO₂ emissions and demonstrate efficiency. LiveLink allows us to give them that data, while also helping us prevent faults before they happen. In critical areas like power generation, that reliability makes all the difference.”
Growth with Care
Behind the numbers, Jarvie’s growth has always been steady and carefully considered. Drew noted that while the business is keen to expand, particularly in its larger operated plant fleet, it will only do so while maintaining its high standards:
“We’d rather grow slowly and get it right than expand too quickly and compromise on service. Our reputation is built on safety, quality, and reliability – and that’s non-negotiable.”
JCB Finance as a Growth Enabler
Finance has also been central to Jarvie Plant Ltd.’s continued investment. Working with JCB Finance makes orders of this scale achievable. Neville Ross, Finance Director, described the process as seamless:
“JCB Finance provide a streamlined service and excellent support to us. Everything just works smoothly, which gives us the confidence to keep developing our fleet.”
Looking to the Future
Jarvie is excited about the possibilities of new technology – from hydrogen-powered JCBs to AI-driven efficiency. But at its heart, the business will continue to focus on delivering the right machines with the right support for its customers.
David Park, Sales Director at Scot JCB, summed up the partnership: “Jarvie Plant Ltd. is a fantastic partner for us because their values are so closely aligned with our own. This investment of 168 machines demonstrates their confidence in JCB and in Scot JCB’s ability to deliver the full package of sales, finance, and aftercare. We’re proud to have supported their growth for over 40 years and look forward to the next chapter together.”
A Partnership for the Next Chapter
With over 2,500–3,000 machines working across Scotland and beyond, Jarvie Plant Ltd. is a true success story. And with Scot JCB by their side, their investment in 2025 is set to power the business forward into 2026 and beyond.
