Scot JCB Group, a leading provider of construction, agricultural, and industrial machinery solutions across Scotland and the North of England, is pleased to announce the launch of its 2026 Apprenticeship Recruitment Programme. The campaign reinforces the company’s commitment to developing the next generation of skilled engineers by offering high-quality training, recognised qualifications, and real-world experience.

This year, apprenticeship vacancies are available in Alnwick, Carlisle, Dumfries, Edinburgh, Forfar, Kelso, and Newcastle. Successful candidates will join one of the most established engineering apprenticeship schemes in the industry, working daily with advanced machinery across both construction and agriculture.

Rhona Cameron, HR Director of Scot JCB Group, said, "Our apprenticeship programme is one of the most important investments we make as a business. It gives young people the chance to learn practical engineering skills, gain respected qualifications, and build long-term careers with us. Many of our most experienced engineers started as apprentices, and we are proud to continue that legacy."

Apprentices will work alongside expert engineers within their depot, supporting the servicing and repair of a wide range of machinery. The programme combines on-the-job learning with college-based study, creating a strong foundation in engineering principles and hands-on technical skills. Apprentices also train at Scot JCB Group’s training facility in Glasgow with their in-house trainer, combined with going to college to gain nationally recognised NVQ or SVQ qualifications in Plant Maintenance or Land-Based Service Engineering.

Additional training opportunities include forklift certification, first aid training, and manufacturer-based courses at JCB’s global facilities, ensuring every apprentice develops a comprehensive skill set.

Rhona Cameron, HR Director, added, "Our apprentices play a vital role across the company. They bring fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and a real passion for engineering. We provide a welcoming and supportive environment, along with clear development pathways that help them grow into confident and capable engineers."

Scot JCB Group encourages anyone with an interest in engineering to consider applying. This is a chance to earn while learning and to build a career within a supportive and successful business.
